Divers Down!

Beginning on Monday, June 10, divers from Aqualogic will be performing DASH (Diver Assisted Suction Harvesting) as part of our ongoing efforts to control Milfoil and Water Violet, the most prevalent invasive species identified in Opechee's waters.

The Lakeview Estates Association has kindly volunteered their beach at the north end of Opechee to allow the dive team to access the water. The operation will be overseen by the New Hampshire DES and will last up to 15 days if the conditions merit. The divers identify unwanted plants that need to be removed, pull them out by the roots, and feed them into a suction tube that transports the plants to the boat to be hauled away.

If you see the divers while you're out on the lake, give them a break and minimize your wake near where they're working. And give them a wave too!
