Wakesurfing, Wakeboarding, and Waterskiing: A Comparison of Wake Characteristics

Here's an interesting study from Australia on the impacts of various wake types. Among the conclusions, although the Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) maintains that a 200 ft shoreline buffer is adequate to mitigate the impact of wakesurfing, the true necessary buffer is "likely to be in excess of 350 ft when considering wave height and 500 ft when considering wave energy."
